New Years Glitz

I told you to expect a lot of glitter!!
I took my inspiration for these nails from WAH, they had gems on all of the nails but I felt that might have been slightly ott for daily nails

I used Barry M Foil effects Gold as a base colour and then on top applied copious layers of Gold Glitter and Yellow Topaz Glitter both Barry M. On my accent nail I applied different sized iridescent gem stones and even more glitter!

I plan on posting tutorials shortly, comments are welcome!

Sparkles & Snowflakes

Hi all! I've been super busy with assignments and applications so the blogs taken a back seat (sorry!!)
I went full blown Christmas on my nails though! Red glitter accented with snowflakes!!

The snowflakes are done with a white nail art pen but its important you add top coat over your glitter first as you need a smooth nail surface to get the design neat! You don't have to be perfect however as every snowflake is unique anyway!! :)
I'm planning a lot of gold and sparkles for my New Years Eve nails-- watch this space!

Tartan Obsession

So it's been months since i've posted!! oops!
I've started my second year of uni so I'm gonna blame that!!

Tartan was big at LFW this autumn and I have fallen in love/become obsessed with it!
I want to incorporate it into all of my outfits somehow and have now taken it to the next level with my nails!

They're no way near perfect but good enough for a first attempt!
To do these I used a white nail striper to do a thick white line, then used black and yellow nail pens to do thinner lines. Easy as pie!!

I'm trying to improve my blog and thinking of doing step by steps and video tutorials, I dont know if anyone would like this? Feel free to comment! :)

Duck egg nails

Sorry for the delay, I've been on an all girls holiday in Greece!
I did this mani the week before I went but didnt get chance to post it so here we go

To do these paint your nails a pale blue/turquoise base colour, I used 17 mint choc chip, then using a ball of cling film, dot on white, brown and grey colours to make the speckle effect
Super simple yet effective :)

Stained Glass

I've reached over 1000 views!! So haps as I've only been blogging for a few months-pleased to know someone's interested in what I'm doing ❤

This week I wanted colourful nails so I went for the Stained Glass nails by Wah Nails. My flatmate said they are my "jazziest yet" which can only be good! They look super intricate but are beyond easy.

All you need to do is choose your favourite colours and do spots of them until you fill your nail. Let this dry then trace the shapes with a nail art pen. Easy! You could use as many or as few colours as you like and each time they look different.

Thankyou to everyone who's reading my blog and feel free to comment :)

Dip Dye Effect

I'm loving the tie dye and dip dye trend this summer and decided to try a dyed effect nailart
To do this I put a drop of three different colours onto a surface and used a sponge to dab the colours onto my nails, which I had painted with a white base colour.
The colours I used are Gosh Bubblegum, Barry M Gelly in Prickly Pear and 17 in Mint Choc Chip.

For the triangle accent nail I used three pieces of tape to make a triangle shape which I put on my nail as a stencil. I then used the sponge to apply the colours. Then removing the tape leaves you with a triangle shape.

Basketcase

I love the basket case nails by Wah Nails but I always find them so tricky to get neat! This is my best attempt so far using just a nail art brush- I think I need to get a striper though!

To do these you start at the top and do 3 horizontal lines, then from the bottom corner do 3 diagonal lines. Finally you do the last 3 lines to leave a triangle in the centre of the nail.
My base colour is blueberry from Barry M Gelly.
